Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. She was born December 13, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift has been a pop/country singer-songwriter for over 20 years. Swift's stories of romance and love at first sight are gaining her acclaim during the 21st Century. Swift began to show an interest in the music industry from a very young age. Her career progressed rapidly from children's play roles and her first appearance on stage in crowds of people. Swift in 2011, then 11, sang The Star-Spangled Banner during a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. Following that, Swift began writing songs of her own. Swift became inspired to compose her own songs by country music artists genre, such as Shania Twain or the Dixie Chicks. Swift's parents moved her from Pennsylvania to Tennessee at the age of 13 after selling their Pennsylvania farm. It enabled Swift to devote more time looking for labels to promote traditional music from Nashville.
